IGOs are 4 day, 4 stage, 4 discipline expedition races.
They exist only in the wildest and most spectacular places the world has to offer and test skill,
fitness, teamwork and, most importantly, inner resolve.

THE IGO STORY

IGO was born as an idea when I completed the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. After a life-changing 48 days at sea, the euphoria of the finish was powerful. I believe everyone should experience that feeling and have it as frequently as possible. Therefore, I was determined to answer the question: If I bottled the adrenaline and emotions I felt upon seeing Antigua after 2 months of rowing, how can I give that ‘adventure ecstasy’ to people who only have a week to spare? The answer is IGO.

Bobby Melville – Founder
We spoke to over 100 of the world’s leading adventurers and distilled their experience into
5 crucial themes that are the DNA behind every IGO.

I – CHALLENGE

It has to be demanding.
We evolve through struggle and the euphoria
directly correlates to the toughness of the challenge.

II – WILDERNESS

Proper adventure is done in the wild.
On an IGO you will be largely self-sufficient, responsible for your own welfare,
and removed from civilisation for the race duration.

III – DIVERSITY

The challenge needs to be varied.
IGO will push you in different ways and demand a wide array of strengths.
Stories are a crucial legacy of adventure and IGO will build a library of them.

IV – CAMARADERIE

People are bound by shared experience: ‘The Dunkirk Spirit’.
Even solo circumnavigations are built upon a crucial team of driven facilitators.
For IGO, teamwork is everything.

V – PHILANTHROPY

We’ll be judged by what we give.
IGO donates a percentage of profits to great causes, awards scholarships
to some truly inspirational people and assists teams in their own fundraising.

Preparation

IGO provides the best and most scientific preparation available.
You will be guided through a state-of-the-art medical analysis resulting in comprehensive
fitness and nutrition regimes – all delivered by industry leaders.
